Ruth Whyman is a Bachelor of Arts, Communication: Journalism. Master of Arts, Counselling and Psychotherapy. Registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Ruth is a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working with adult clients (16yrs+) around Surrey, Sussex, Gatwick and the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark).
Integrative psychotherapy means Ruth combines a range of techniques and psychological theories, based on the unique needs of her clients. This includes exploring feelings, thoughts, behaviour patterns and relevant childhood experiences. Counsellor and client work together, to reach whatever goals the client set themselves, helping them feel happier and healthier.
Ruth has experience working with a range of issues including: anxiety and depression, trauma, LGBTQ+ and gender, relationships, abuse, addiction, phobias, loss and bereavement.
Prior to her therapeutic training, Ruth was a full-time elite athlete and worked for many years in the charitable sector, in youth sport engagement. She brings all her life experiences to her current psychotherapeutic practice.
